Personalize your desktop

Would you like to have some text on your desktop…a personal message, a to-do list, lyrics of your favourite song…anything at all?

You can make a web page your desktop wallpaper, and display your personal message right there. Here’s how.

First, you have to create a webpage.

1. Open a Word document. Write the text you want displayed on your desktop.
2. After you have your text ready, go to File and choose Save As.
3. Type a file name in the File Name box.
4. In the Save as type box, choose Web Page.
5. Save in a folder.

Now it’s time to put it up on your desktop.

1. Right-click anywhere on the desktop.
2. Go to Properties.
3. Go to Desktop and click on Customize Desktop.
4. Choose Web.
5. In Web, Click on New. This will open a new window New Desktop Item.
6. Click Browse and select the file you created earlier. (You can also choose a webpage and enter the URL in the box given to make that your desktop item.)
7. Click Ok.

Your personalized desktop is ready! Cool
